Common UV DTF printer questions
What can the ColDesi UV 24H3R produce?
Both 24H3R models produce full-color UV DTF adhesive transfers for hard goods. These transfers can be applied to products such as drinkware, promotional items, signage, gifts, and other rigid or curved products. The 24H3R & 3D Flex version also supports raised, flexible 3D UV Flex transfers for garments and soft goods.
Does the 24H3R print directly onto the finished product?
No. The 24H3R is a roll-fed UV DTF printer that prints the design onto film. The finished adhesive transfer is then applied to the product. This transfer-based process makes it possible to decorate many items that would be difficult to place inside a traditional flatbed UV printer.
What materials can UV DTF transfers be applied to?
Compatible hard-surface applications include wood, metal, glass, acrylic, plastic, PVC, ceramic, paper, foam board, poster board, signage, canvas, and many other rigid substrates. Surface condition, coatings, texture, and cleanliness can affect adhesion, so test unfamiliar products before committing to a production run.
Can the 24H3R decorate curved or uneven products?
Yes. Because the image is produced as an adhesive transfer rather than printed directly onto the object, it can be applied to flat, uneven, cylindrical, and conical surfaces. Common examples include tumblers, drinkware, bottles, promotional products, and irregularly shaped hard goods.
Can both 24H3R models make transfers for apparel?
The standard ColDesi UV 24H3R is designed primarily for UV DTF hard-surface transfers. Choose the ColDesi UV 24H3R & 3D Flex configuration when you also want to produce raised, dimensional, flexible transfers for apparel and soft goods such as left-chest logos, hats, backpacks, workwear, and retail garments.
What is the difference between the UV 24H3R and the UV 24H3R & 3D Flex?
Both models share the roll-fed UV DTF workflow for hard-surface transfers. The 3D Flex configuration adds the matched capability needed to create raised, textured, flexible apparel transfers. It is the better choice when you want one machine to serve both hard-goods and garment-decoration markets.
How does the UV DTF printing and lamination process work?
The printer lays down CMYK, white, and clear ink as the film moves through the machine. UV lamps cure the ink immediately, and the integrated lamination process completes the transfer so it can be rolled, stored, sold, or applied. The workflow eliminates separate color passes and does not require weeding or masking for the hard-surface transfer.
How fast and how wide can the 24H3R print?
ColDesi lists production at more than 16 linear feet per hour at approximately 22.5 inches wide. Actual output depends on the artwork, print mode, ink coverage, operating conditions, maintenance, and production workflow.
How much space, power, and environmental control does the printer require?
The listed machine size is approximately 63 by 35.5 by 51.25 inches and the listed weight is about 397 pounds. Electrical requirements are 220V, 10A, 50/60Hz. ColDesi also lists an operating range of approximately 60°F to 80°F with 50% to 70% relative humidity. Confirm access, electrical service, ventilation, and delivery clearance before installation.
What training, software, support, and warranty are included?
The product pages list training for equipment, software, and maintenance, along with phone, email, and video support. Compress UV-RIP is listed as the operating software. The listed warranty is one year on parts and labor and six months on print heads, with travel costs not included. Confirm the exact package contents and warranty terms on your order before purchase.
