Common questions

How do I know which ColDesi DTF printer is right for my business?

Each ColDesi DTF printer is designed for a different combination of workspace, production needs, and growth goals. A ColDesi equipment specialist can learn about your business, help you compare the available systems, and guide you toward the machine that best fits your operation.

Can I see the DTF printer in action before I buy?

Yes. ColDesi offers opportunities to see its equipment through in-person showroom demonstrations and live virtual demonstrations. This allows you to see the workflow, ask questions, and better understand the equipment before making a decision.

Is training included with my ColDesi DTF printer?

Training and support are listed across ColDesi’s current DTF printer lineup. Most ColDesi equipment purchases include training, although the exact training format and package eligibility may vary depending on the machine and configuration selected.

What does ColDesi’s DTF printer training cover?

Training is designed to help you understand equipment setup, operation, software, routine maintenance, and the overall DTF production process. Depending on the equipment, training resources may include self-paced courses, videos, written lessons, downloadable materials, and live online instruction.

What support is available after the printer is installed?

ColDesi provides ongoing access to training resources, instructional content, and a technical-support ticketing system. When an answer cannot be found in the training or support library, customers can submit a support request for assistance from the technical-support team; ColDesi’s current DTF lineup also advertises nationwide technicians.

Can someone who is new to DTF printing learn to use the equipment?

Yes. ColDesi’s onboarding and training resources provide a structured path for new operators to learn the equipment and production workflow. The training remains available as a reference, allowing operators and additional team members to review important procedures when needed.

What software is used to operate a ColDesi DTF printer?

ColDesi’s current DTF printer lineup lists Print Optimizer Software – DTF Edition for preparing and managing print production. The exact software version, computer requirements, and included features should be confirmed for the selected printer and package.

Does a DTF printer require regular maintenance?

Yes. Routine maintenance is an important part of operating any DTF printer and helps support reliable production and consistent output. ColDesi’s DTF training covers equipment operation and maintenance, while the precise procedures and schedule are provided for the individual machine.

What should I prepare before my DTF printer arrives?

You should plan for an appropriate operating area, adequate access for delivery, the required electrical connections, a compatible computer, and any ventilation or environmental needs associated with the selected system. Because printer dimensions and configurations vary considerably, the exact requirements should be verified during the purchasing and onboarding process.

Are financing options available for ColDesi DTF printers?

Financing opportunities are available for qualifying customers. Available terms, payments, down-payment requirements, and approval conditions depend on the equipment package and the financing provider.

Description
24-Inch Direct-to-Film Production System

Direct-to-Film 24H2 Transfer Printer

The DTF-24H2 is a commercial 24" direct-to-film system built for shops that want to produce transfers in house without tying the printer to one garment at a time. Dual Epson i3200 print heads lay down CMYK color and a registered white underbase on roll-fed PET film, while the matched 24POWC handles the powder and drying stages.

Production is rated at 45 to 55 linear feet per hour, or about 100 8" x 10" transfers per hour. Finished DTF transfers can be stored for six months or more, so printing and heat press application can run on separate schedules.

At a Glance
  24" roll-fed PET transfer film   Compact 43" x 35" 24POWC dryer
Dual Epson i3200 print heads   CMYK plus white ink configuration
45 to 55 linear feet per hour   About 100 8" x 10" transfers per hour
Around 10 seconds press time   Transfers store for six months or more
Integrated fume extraction   1 year warranty, 6 months on print heads

Wide-Format DTF Production for Varied Orders

Direct-to-Film separates printing from garment application. The 24H2 can produce everything from single-color labels and left-chest logos to full-size graphics, and multiple designs or sizes can share the same print run before the transfers ever reach a shirt.

That separation gives a busy shop more options for organizing production. Transfers can be printed ahead, stored for six months or more, then applied at one or several heat press stations as orders are assembled.

Key Production Features

Dual Epson i3200 Print Heads

The first head lays down CMYK color and the second adds the white underbase in alignment on the film. Because that registration happens on a smooth transfer surface instead of directly on garment texture, the process is built to produce clean edges and detailed graphics.

Print Optimizer RIP Control

DigitalHeat FX Print Optimizer gives the operator control over ink laydown, including per-channel color adjustment and ink-flow settings. That gives you room to tune output for detailed gradients, full-color artwork, or simpler single-color designs.

Compact 24POWC Shaker/Dryer

The 24POWC was developed specifically for the 24H2 and measures 43" x 35". It keeps pace with the printer's 45 to 55 linear feet per hour production rating, uses 110V/14A power, includes integrated fume extraction, and runs 12% quieter.

Print Now, Press When You Need It

Finished transfers can be stored for six months or more. ColDesi lists around a 10 second press time for DTF, with press times up to five times faster than DTG, so print production and garment assembly do not have to happen at the same pace.

24" Film with Automated Media Handling

The 24H2 uses 24" x 328' DigitalHeat FX PET film with automatic film take-up. A heated print path starts the drying process after printing so the white layer is ready to receive the powder adhesive as the film moves into finishing.

What You Can Decorate

DTF gives you broad placement and garment flexibility. The process is positioned for use on virtually any garment and in virtually any placement, with the following products and fabrics among the examples shown for the 24H2.

Garments and Products
  • T-shirts and polos
  • Sweatshirts and dress shirts
  • Sports uniforms
  • Aprons and backpacks
  • Flags and other compatible soft goods
Compatible Fabric Examples
  • Combed, ring-spun, and organic cotton
  • Polyester
  • Cotton and polyester blends
  • Tri-blends
  • Polyester-spandex

The DTF process is also presented for durability through dozens of wash cycles, giving shops a transfer format that can move from short custom runs to repeat apparel work.

OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT certified inks: DigitalHeat FX DTF inks carry OEKO-TEX ECO PASSPORT certification, supporting documentation for global safety and supply-chain requirements.

How the DTF Workflow Works

Step 1
Print
Print the artwork and white underbase onto translucent PET transfer film.
Step 2
Powder
The shaker applies the moisture-seeking adhesive powder, which draws into the ink before curing and forms the bond used for application to cotton and polyester fibers while keeping the transfer feel soft.
Step 3
Cure
The 24POWC dries the powdered transfer and moves the film through the finishing stage with integrated fume extraction.
Step 4
Heat Press
Apply the cured transfer with an even heat press. ColDesi lists around a 10 second press time for the DTF process.

LTL delivery is made to a receiving area, loading dock, or driveway. Uncrating and self-installation are the receiver's responsibility. The printer and 24POWC are on casters after uncrating, and the site readiness document calls for 3 to 4 people when the equipment must be lifted over steps or moved safely.

Review the updated DTF-24H2 24POWC Site Readiness document before delivery and installation.

Temperature and humidity matter to the print heads. Keep the room between 60°F and 80°F with 50% to 70% relative humidity. The site readiness document warns that improper conditions can dry the print heads quickly. A hygrometer near the printer is strongly recommended so you can keep an eye on the room before conditions drift too far.

Buying It From ColDesi

The 24H2 comes with a 1 year warranty and 6 months of print head warranty coverage, along with 7-day equipment support, nationwide DTF technicians, online self-paced training, and one-on-one training availability. The updated 24POWC also cuts the footprint and runs on 110V/14A power, which makes the system easier to place in shops where floor space and higher-voltage service are limited.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I decorate with the DTF-24H2?
